This is the second video we made while working with participants of the Music Immersive, which is part of the Hollywood Immersive. This is the second of 3 clips of some of the sessions at “The Alley.” In this particular video I’m working with Joanna Gorton and Celeste Isabella.
Good stuff Steve. Every time I’ve seen you in action you gotten better performances out of people. I benefit for my own students so I’m very appreciative.
Thanks Jack. Really appreciate the comment!
HEY STEVE, A LOT OF THE YOUNGER SINGERS HAVE THIS PITCH BENDING WIGGLING THING GOING ON IN THEIR VOICES. WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT?
DOESN’T ANYONE LIKE TO SING STRAIGHT TONE WITH A NICE VIBRATO ANYMORE?
Hi Bob. You are correct. Using vocal embellishments are pretty much “must do’s” these days in contemporary music styles. How much and what type vary from genre to genre, but there are very few that don’t require it.
Straight tone with nice vibrato is reserved mostly for musical theater, classical, some jazz and probably a couple of other things here and there.
